The fourth manifestation of Lord Vishnu, also known as Narasimha, Nrsimha, or Narsingh, is also referred to as the “man-lion” or “half man-half lion” incarnation. The day of Narasimha Jayanti in 2023 is May 4. The primary goals of the Narasimha avatar were to overthrow Hiranyakashipu’s rule and reestablish the Dharmic path. The destruction of Adharma was made possible by Prahlada, the young son of Hiranyakashipu and a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu.

Narasimha Jayanthi Rituals

  • Do Puja to Narasimha in the morning after taking a bath with dhoop, a lamp, flowers, fruits, and naivedya (prasad food). The Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra is then chanted.

  • Giving food to underprivileged kids on this day is really praiseworthy.
  • Those who observe the Narasimha Jayanti vratham are said to enter the “Vaikunta,” or home of Vishnu.

Significance of Narasimha Jayanthi

The purpose of Narsimha Jayanti is to reject Adharma and pursue Dharma. On this day, those who follow fasts and offer sincere prayers to the Lord will be granted their wishes. Also, it is claimed that on this day, anyone who exhibits animosity against others should do so with devotion in order to calm themselves down. Lord Narasimha protects his devotees from intrigues and evil eyes.
