Apple is regarded as one of the healthiest fruits due to its abundance of nutrients that can help in the treatment of all types of health ailments.  No wonder it is often said that “one apple a day keeps the doctor away,”

However, you cannot eat an apple at all times of the day.  Ayurveda advises that consuming Apple at a specific time of day has its best benefits.

Best time to Eat APPLE

Apples should never be eaten on an empty stomach, per Ayurveda. This action might cause constipation and bloat.

Hence as per Ayurveda, it is advisable to eat apples either one hour after breakfast or one hour after lunch.

Also since the apple is fibrous and in the morning it is easier for your stomach to digest it and absorb the nutrients completely, hence the preferred time slot is an hour after breakfast.

Apple contains Pectin, and it is another reason why apples should be consumed in the morning. Pectin can prevent the production of lactic acid in the colon and stimulate the growth of good microorganisms. This improves the health of your digestive system and eliminates hazardous waste, reducing the likelihood of acquiring stomach-related disorders.

The worst Time to Eat APPLE

As the level of digestive acids decreases in the evening, so does the rate of digestion. Therefore, if you consume an apple after 6 p.m., it may remain undigested in your stomach for a longer time. This may result in stomach difficulties and sleeplessness.

Proper Method to Eat an Apple

The best method to eat an Apple is by consuming it in its raw state.  Never remove the apple’s peel, as it contains numerous vital nutrients. You should avoid packaged apple juice because it contains sugar and is devoid of beneficial fibre for the stomach.
