An ancient Ayurvedic cultural tradition called Garbh Sanskar can be traced back to the Vedas. In contrast to Garbh, Sanskar indicates “morals or values” or “womb.” An approach to pregnancy is known as Garbh Sanskar. A science intended to instruct a child while they are still in the womb.

Each month is believed to be under the influence of a planetary body by the Garbh Sanskar religion. Throughout each month of pregnancy, you must chant the appropriate mantra for the relevant planet.

1st-Month Pregnancy Slokam

अहयैही भगवान ब्रह्म, प्रजा-कार्थः प्रजापथे |
प्रगृहनीश्व बालिम स-इमाम, सपथ्यं रक्षा घरबीनम ||

Aehyaehi Bhagavan Brahman, Praja-Karthaha Prajaapathae
Pragrihneeshva Balim Sa-imam, saapathyam raksha Gharbineem

2nd-Month Pregnancy Slokam

अश्विनौ देवा धेवेसो, प्रग्रुहनीधन बालिम ध्विमम |
सपथ्यं गरबीनेम स-इमाम सा रक्षां पूजायनाया ||

Ashvinou Dheva Dhevaesow, Pragruhneedhan Balim Dhvimam
Saapathyaam Garbineem sa-imam sa Rakshatham Poojai Anayaa

3rd-Month Pregnancy Slokam

Rudhrasha Aekaadhasha Broktha, Pragrahnanthu Balim Dhvimam
Yakshamaagam Preethayae Vrutham, Nithyam Rakshandhu Garbineem

Meaning – Oh the eleven Holy Rudras! Please accept our offering, which is given according to your intentions, and please safeguard this woman who is in the familial way from all perils, as we ask your mercy and blessing.

4th-Month Pregnancy Slokam

आधिथ्य ध्वधाशा ब्रोकथाह, प्रग्रीमनीतवं बालिम थविमं |
यशमाकम थेजसम वृद्धा, नित्यं रक्षथा गर्भनीम ||

Aadhithyaa Dhvaadhasha Brokthaha, Pragrimneethvam Balim thvimam
Yashmaakam Thejasaam Vridhya, nithyam rakshatha garbineem

Meaning – May the radiance of the twelve Holy Sun Gods be increased as a result of our gifts. Please accept our proposal. Protect this lady from any risks while she is in the family’s path.

5th-Month Pregnancy Slokam

विनायक गणाध्यक्ष, शिव पुत्र महाबल प्रथम |
प्रगृहनीश्व बालिम स-इमाम, सपथ्यं रक्षा गर्भनीम ||

Vinayaka Ganaadhyaksha, Shiva puthra Mahabala
Pragrihneeshva Balim sa-imam, Saapathyam raksha garbineem

Skandha Shanmuga devaesha puthra preethi vivardhana

द्रुवोधारा धरशैव, वासवोएस्तो प्रकीरथिथाः
प्रग्रुहनीतवं बलिम स-इमाम, नित्यं रक्षथा गरबिनीम ||

Druvodhara dharashaiva, vasavoeshtow prakeerthithaha
Pragruhneethvam balim sa-imam, nithyam Rakshatha Garbineem

Meaning – Please receive this holy sacrifice, and guard this lady who is in the family path from all threats, Oh Prabhasa, Oh Prabhava, Oh Syama, Of Prathyusha, Oh Marutha, Oh Anala, Oh Dhruva, Oh Dhuradhura, Who are the eight sacred Vasus.

8th-Month Pregnancy Slokam

|| पिथुरदेवी पिधुश्रेष्ठे, बहू पुत्री महा बाले
बूढा श्रेष्ठे निशा वसा, निर्वृथा शौनागप्रिय मैं
प्रगृहनीश्व बालिम स-इमाम, सपथ्यं रक्षा गर्भनीम ||

Pithurdevi pidhushraeshtae, bahu puthree mahaa bale
Boodha sreshtae nisha vaasae, nirvrithae shanmugapriya
Pragrihneeshva Balim sa-imam, Saapathyam raksha garbineem

Meaning – Oh Goddess of my manes, Oh Goddess greater than my manes, Oh Goddess who has all women as daughters, Oh Goddess who is extremely powerful, Oh Goddess who is stronger than all beings, Oh Goddess who guards us at night, Oh Goddess without flaws, Oh Goddess who was revered by Sounaka, Please accept this precious sacrifice and keep this woman safe from all perils while she is in the family path.

9th-Month Pregnancy Slokam

रक्षा रक्षा महादेव, बख्ता-अनुग्रह कारगा |
पाक्षी वाहन गोविंदा, सपथ्यं रक्षा गर्भनीम ||

Raksha Raksha Mahadeva, Baktha-Anugraha karaga
Pakshi Vaahana Govindha, Saapathyam raksha Garbineem

Meaning – Oh God, who is the best, who rejoices in protecting and blessing his followers, Oh Govinda, who rides on a bird, please safeguard this lady who is in the family path from all threats.
