As per astrology, Friday is the day of the planet Venus.  Planet Venus which is known for energy is the second brightest natural object after the Moon.

The movies are released on Fridays primarily because this day is associated with the energy of Venus.

Religious Reason

Another reason is that Friday is considered auspicious in India. This day is the day of Goddess Lakshmi. That’s why more producers decided to release their films on Friday itself. Not only movies but this day has also been fixed for even the Muhurta shot. Producers believe that she will do better if she releases films on this day.
